谁有资格?
本次竞赛面向在颁奖典礼前两个日历年内完成世界语言教育领域论文的人开放. Nominees are not required to be members of ACTFL. 本竞赛面向致力于世界语言教育领域研究或从事世界语言教育相关研究的博士研究生. 使用任何定量或定性研究方法的研究(历史, 调查, 实验, 民族志, 等.)将被考虑. Each study will be assessed in the light of its approach, the scholarly qualifications of its report, 以及其对世界语言教育领域知识贡献的重要意义.
What are the required components of the submission?
Round 1—Abstract Assessment
Nominee or nominator will submit abstract of dissertation, along with a 支持信 from a faculty member, addressed to the Chair of the selection committee. This letter should describe the thesis, situate it in the field, 并将其对理论或实践的贡献联系起来, 或两个, of second or world language learning. 该信件必须在截止日期之前与论文摘要一起提交. 缺少支持信的意见书将不予考虑.

Round 2—Dissertation Review
The dissertation should have the following components:
- 对研究发生的背景的陈述和所涉及过程的描述;
- review of the literature related to the problem, 包括 contribution to the study being reviewed;
- a clear and detailed design of the study;
- clear and systematic analysis of the data;
- conclusions appropriate to the data;
- recognition of the limitations of the study; and

The nominations can be made only by ACTFL members. Nominations can be of ACTFL members or non-members. Self-nominations will be accepted only from members of ACTFL.
The recipient of this award receives an honorarium.
Procedures for Selection Committee
